Oxfam

Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala

Oxfam has been the charity partner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala for 23 years. As part of this partnership, each year the Comedy Gala is held to benefit support Oxfam, with the audience and television viewers watching at home encouraged to donate. From 2016, Oxfam incorporated a PSMS text giving call to action, generating over 20,000 text donations.

The Channel 7 Telethon Trust used text giving combined with a traditional raffle to raise funds at their charity event, allowing people who could not attend the event to participate and donate.

RSPCA Queensland ran a primarily social media campaign supported through out of home and direct response TV ads. The campaign was highly successful in raising awareness, in addition to receiving over 2,000 donation texts.

In 2016-17, UNICEF used text giving in an outdoor poster campaign, supported through a free to air television ad and social media. Posters in high dwell time locations generated the greatest number of donations.

The Salvation Army’s Carols in the Domain is an annual live TV broadcast event. In 2016, an on air call to action was included to donate via text giving.
